Alert Number 71

A Fishy Tale

Date: January 23, 2005

Much current research is focused on the role played by polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) in health and disease. Our modern diet and agricultural technology have created a huge imbalance between the two major groups PUFAs that we consume, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Restoring that balance is critical to our ability to avoid and fight cancer and other diseases. In our latest article, Omega-3 Fatty Acids, we review the current scientific thought on the importance of increasing our consumption of Omega-3 oils, derived mainly from fish.

Listen up, folks. This is about as good as it gets: a low risk, low cost, low toxicity dietary intervention you can do right now, one that is likely to have a nice impact on how your CLL plays out, how you respond to therapy.

Be well.
